Encil Gyfrinfa, Gwynus

The property was overall very nice and very well done. The bathrooms and bedrooms were clean and done to luxury standard. But we had problem with the smell in the kitchen and living room area. We lit candles, opened windows and even left coffee beans out to absorb the smell but it just wouldnt go. Wasnt sure exactly where it was coming from. Maybe the living room carpets? Also the sofas were very stained. And need a good professional clean. Apart from the two factors everything else was great. Its a great property for a short stay.

We had an amazing stay in this lovely cabin. Great location for hikes and a nice quiet campsite. The cabin itself is a lot more spacious then it looks in the pictures and it was absolutely spotless. Hot tub was clean and a lovely bonus after a day hiking! Would definitely return.

We had a lovely time during our stay in your Lodge, Encil Gyfrinfa but there are a few things I would like to bring to your attention. There was no barbecue as advertised. Could not use both showers at the same time due to water pressure loss. Door from dining area to bedrooms binds on the floor. One of the hinges to the wardrobe in master bedroom has come loose and needs refixing. Blind in ensuite broken. Fridge door shelf fell of due to broken lugs. This is a lovely lodge to stay in and I feel the items listed need rectifying to maintain it's Premier League status.

Perfect. The accommodation was clean, very well equipped, comfortable & perfect for our summer holiday. The location & site was so peaceful I would highly recommend & definitely return

The Good This is a very modern lodge with a good layout, the decking is a fantastic size which includes a good size hot tub. The not so great. On arrival we were impressed with the size and location but on entering the lodge the smell was not very nice, seemed as though it had been locked up with no ventilation. Having had a good walk around the lodge we found that it was quite dirty in lots of places, the windows looked like they hadnt been cleaned for quite a while, there were areas with cobwebs and dog hair from previous users. We stayed for 2 weeks and after the first week we had to email and ask for our bedding and towels to be refreshed which was done quickly, we also noticed that no one had been to maintain the hot tub which after 10 days was stating to look cloudy, again we had to email to request that the hot tub was cleaned. The above two items shouldnt need to be requested when staying anywhere, they should be automatically done. The lodge is starting to look a little tied and looks like no maintenance has been carried out, I have a short list of items that should be looked at, 1. Main bifold doors would barely move, only one section moved which is the main entrance doors but was still a bit tight. 2. The guttering on the front right of the unit is sagging and during a down pour the rain water poured over the top. 3. 2 planks of the deck have split along their length and has a potential of someone catching their foot and causing injury. 4. All the windows in the lodge were difficult to open and close. 5. The glass balustrade is a great feature but again doesnt look like its been cleaned in a while along with the outside of the lodge, there are a few areas which need attention one being the section which is on the steps leading onto the deck, the section has slipped down, there are other sections which need adjusting, quite minor but add to the place just looking a bit unkempt. We were really looking forward to staying here which in general we did once we cleaned the lodge. This could be a fantastic place to holiday but really needs some attention before it gets worse. If this was my business I would make sure that such an expensive lodge was very well maintained and kept spotless and smelt lovely for new incoming clients. I hope you use this feedback and address the issues and you could turn this into a place where people want to return time and time again, because as of now we wont be back sadly.

Beautiful lodge, very well presented, thought has gone into the decor and comfort. Lot of cobwebs in outside area especially chairs and table but can't stop nature! Very comfortable beds. Could do with a overhead shower in the main bathroom we ended up sharing the private bathroom. We took an autistic person who settled well into his surroundings. The only reason I wouldn't recommend this lodge to my colleagues and the oersons they support is no washing machine which is a requirement of their needs. Very good base for the amazing scenic surrounding area, very peaceful and relaxing, already planning for next year. Thank you, Gary

If they can sort out their cleaning crew it would resolve many of the issues! The cabin itself is a great design, lots of space for up to 6 people. To the rear of the cabin does have a lovely view but I feel there needs to be a warning about the horse especially when the cabin is advertised as dog friendly. Our pup was fine but some dogs may be too reactive. Also from a dog friendly perspective, your gate needs some maintenance as the latch does not fully catch when you close the gate and so a dog can easily get it open and escape. For our visit we had to put one of the outdoor chairs in front of the gate for peace of mind. Inside the cabin we felt like it needed a bit more attention to detail as there were multiple cobwebs hanging from the ceiling, there was a plaster stuck to one of the smoke alarms in the main bedroom and there are cracks to the plaster in the main room. We liked the addition of the board games for guest use and the fire in the lounge I imagine makes it very cosy in the winter! It was a shame that when we got there the hot tub was green with a lot of sediment and according to the test strips that were left out, 0 chlorine in it! The team were easy to get hold of though and someone arrived the next morning to clean it for us. This did sadly mean for a third of our stay and sadly the time with the best weather it was not usable. Also worth highlighting that I don't feel the listing truly highlighted how close you are to the other caravans so you can be sat in the hot tub and there were people walking past the cabin! There are a few teething issues but they could all be relatively quick fixes with the right team in place so don't let that put you off from going! It is in a great position with plenty to go see and do in the area

Encil Gyfrinfa is amazing! The lodge was clean, spacious and very well equipped. The dcor of the lodge was modern and beautifully finished. There are proper fullsized beds and they are very comfortable. While we didn't really need it, there was good heating throughout the lodge. There was loads of room for all four of us inside and outside of the lodge. The deck provided more space to dine, watch the sunset and enjoy the hot tub. The location is stunning, with views everywhere and a beautiful white horse keeping us company. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat in a beautiful lodge, this is for you!

Our stay was fantastic , modern when furnished , everything we needed was avaliable. It was home from home , the only thing i would say that the pillows on the master bedroom where a little flat a could do with replacing. We went with our Children and of course we took games but we were presently surprised to find there was already a few there. It was beautiful and quiet with lovely views... with a hot tub on the decking which went down a storm with everyone. Overall our stay was fab and would definitely recommend to friends and family

One of the main reasons we booked this property was because of the hot tub and the first night it wouldnt heat up and the second night it wouldnt switch on at all. It also had a film of dirt on the top and a peanut on the bottom we didnt bring any! so wasnt exactly clean. We called and requested assistance and some more towels and the towels came but no assistance with the hot tub! It was such a shame as its a lovely lodge otherwise.

We were skeptical about booking here due to the lack of recent reviews and slightly negative reviews from last year. However I am so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, we were stunned by the decor, the attention to detail and the cozy atmosphere. The lodge had everything we needed and more. We genuinely couldnt have asked for anything else. We had the most amazing 4 days. We had some gorgeous sunset walks along the coastline that was nearby we even saw dolphins! We spent our evenings cooking in the well equipped kitchen, relaxing on the couch by the fire, topped off with a dip in the hottub under the stars. It was everything we wanted for a much needed break from reality thank you!

The house was lovely, very comfortable. We'll located and so quite and peaceful. The hot tub was great. Lots of outdoor space and parking.

It was a little difficult to find Waze got lost and took me up a dirt road. Google maps was better to find it. On the long road up there were cows and its very dangerous as theres nothing on one side to stop the car falling. The home was okay but when we opened the sofa bed there was so much dirt under the sofa cushions. Overall the home was nice.

When we arrived we was quite disappointed

We had a great stay overall. First impressions were amazingeverything felt very comfortable and straightforward, and we were able to relax right away. We got our stay at a great price compared to previous visits, but honestly, if we'd paid the full amount, I wouldn't recommend it unless you're splitting the bill between at least six people. The cleanliness of the lodge was generally good, except for the ceilings, which had quite a few spiders. The hot tub was more like a bubble bath, and the WiFi was unreliable. One major issue was that someone had clearly been on our balcony while we were out, as there were footprints and gravel left behind, and we wouldn't have been surprised if they used the hot tub. Some parts of the balcony were falling off, and it would've been nice to have a bin with a proper lid. Despite these issues, the location was perfectvery quiet, with easy access to beaches, walks, and restaurants.

The Lodge was beautifully furnished and very comfortable. I think the cleaners should have been a little more thorough as we did find some old food in the cupboards but apart from that we had a beautiful stay and would return

The Lodge itself is furnished to a high standard and the decor is lovely, but the cleanliness just wasn't up to the standards expected for the high price we paid. We were really disappointed on arrival to spend 30 minutes cleaning and a further couple of hours on the phone to Sykes trying to report the scum around the hot tub no one came out to rectify the problems. Due the the hot tub resembling pond water we only went in it one night after attempting to clean it ourselves, which was a shame as this was one of the main reasons for booking. Unfortunately we wouldn't book another holiday through Skyes or recommend this property to friends & family. It really could be amazing though!

The lodge has potential to be a lovely holiday however we were not happy with the cleanliness of it particularly the hot tub which had not been cleaned prior to our stay the water was quite dirty. There was some issues inside the lodge however this did not ruin our stay it was just disappointing that we couldnt use the hot tub for the last 2 days of our 7 day break. The customer service from Sykes has been appalling and they are unwilling to offer any compensation and have totally ignored our attempts to contact them. Would not use them again which is a shame as we have been a customer for a while.

Just returned home from a lovely break in Wales. Lovely lodge in a lovely location with beautiful views. The lodge was clean, beautifully furnished & had a fantastic hot tub. Unfortunately the hot tub took about 5 hours to reach temperature after arrival as it wasnt switched on. We took our 2 dogs with us but the lodge isnt completely secure but that wasnt a problem as we were able to block the entrance to the decking easily to ensure they wouldnt run off. Provided in the lodge were cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, hand soap, towels, bedding, family board games and a washing airer, which were all very welcomed. The reason why Ive only rated it a 910 was because although it was described as having WiFi, it did not work. Unfortunately with 2 small children who get bored easily, this was a bit of a problem as there isnt any signal in the area so kids were unable to use tablets, or use the apps on the smart TV or Google nest. Overall, I would stay again as its a lovely lodge but the WiFi could do with being looked at.

Lovely property apart from no WiFi all weekend with three teenagers! !! Property was lovely, newly done out with high quality fittings, thoughtfully decorated and well considered, spacious and comfortable for a lodge and spotlessly clean. Hot tub was running when we got there on large decked area and remained at a pleasant consistent temperature of 35 degrees. The property is located at the top of a hill and is very peaceful on top of a hill. As you walk or drive down the hill there are some stunning views of the Llyn Pennisula. Everyone happy with the property until the realisation that the WiFi advertised in the brochure and on the sign up to the property was none existent within the property and only accessed down the dirt path leading up to it. As 50 somethings we were okay with this but definitely an issue for three teenagers who had been told would have WiFi as advertised. We tried to contact the owners on the numbers provided and were unable to the first night then told the owners were away and given another number but still no response so had no WiFi for the whole weekend If you are ok with no WiFi I would recommend the property itself which as I said is really lovely and in a great spot to explore the beautiful Llyn but if this is something that is important to members of the group would unfortunately say to reconsider.

No WiFi so would help to prewarn. Also local restaurants all fully booked so might be an idea to give more info on these so you can call to book. Also shower was just hot water but did sort this very quickly thanks to owner calling. Lodge very clean and lots of space.
