Snowdonia Manor Reviews

Steven
It's December, we arrived at the property to find it freezing cold, a plumber turned up and told us that the heating and hot water had not been working all week. The owner rang an hour later and told us that there were fan heaters in a cupboard. The owner had know all week that the heating and hot water were not working and had not told us or Sykes which would have given us the opportunity to cancel our trip there were 12 of us. He rang again the next day and offered the shower in the property next door, we went to look, this house was also freezing and we did not pay 5 star prices to have to go next door to shower although we had not choice. We bought wood at great expense for the log burner, we needed a lot as it was the only heating in the house, the fan heaters tripped the electric as soon as we plugged in more than 2. The plumber turned up everyday, a nice chap, but not what you want when you have planned a pre Christmas getaway with friends. The house its self is not a 5 star house, it is totally mis represented on the Sykes website. I cannot begin to list it's failings besides the lack of heating and hot water. Sykes have a comprehensive list. The owner is now uncontactable according to Sykes and Sykes don't seem to want to take any responsibility for this sub standard, mis represented property. Do not book this property, you will be disappointed, the photo's are very clever particularly of the bedrooms but the reality does not match the photo's.
The house is beautiful, clean, spacious and great location. Would 100 recommend

Lots of issues reported to Levers and Greaves day after arrival and to Sykes a couple of days later as no action taken. No ping pong table as advertised hot tub dirty, garden furniture full of slime unusable , football table not working, no darts for dartboard. One of the double beds had broken slats so person in this room slept on floor. Only one working communal shower in house and one ensuite shower. Rest not working and second shower room on first floor locked with no access. Lift not working. Manhole cover on septic tank loose and dangerous a member of our party fell in such a health hazard! Rear garden covered in broken roof tiles and thick covering of leaves which we cleared to allow access. A real shame as property itself was beautiful just poorly maintained!

The images on the listing show some things that arent at the property like . . table tennis table and furniture in the courtyard. Breakfast bar stools in the kitchen that arent there. It has a dart board in the courtyard but it only has one broken dart. The football table was also broken and there was no batteries in the remote in the games room rendering that room useless. We had a big problem with the toilets not flushing, and although we appreciate this was dealt with very quickly we had to deal with the noise and smell while we was in the garden of the workers emptying the septic tank. The bedrooms are lovely but we feel the ones that are big enough would benefit by having a small ensuite. Plus we found, although it looked lovely, the rooms with the roll top bath in the middle of the room would be much more practical to remove these and have a shower in the ensuite instead, these baths were not used as they were impractical. The hot tub requires fixing on one side of the lid as it kept popping out when opening and closing, it just needed a spanner to tighten the bolt which we didnt have. I do understand that this property has only recently changed hands so I feel there is a good chance all these issues stated would be addressed and if thats the case we would consider going back, the location was excellent and it was beautifully decorated.

Lovely big house with plenty garden space and hot tub ready to go when we arrived. Difficult to get temperature down in upper areas but there was a heat wave so thats not a complaint. Maybe bring fans if you are lucky enough to get the weather we did! Floor plan was slightly different to what we expected to the big room plan for our mixed party and the lift was not available wasnt a problem for our group. Would confirming before arriving if anyone needs it. Owner very helpful, quick to respond and posted out a tablet we left behind back to our house. Overall a great place to stay and I would gladly stay again!
